Dr. P. G. Solanki Scheme for Stipend to Scheduled Caste Lawyers

The scheme Dr. P. G. Solanki Scheme for Stipend to Scheduled Caste Lawyers was launched by the Director Scheduled Caste Welfare, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of Gujarat. The scheme was launched in year Under the scheme, a monthly stipend is provided for three years to law graduates belonging to the scheduled caste category, as well as to the senior lawyer who trains such individuals. This support is extended due to their poor financial condition, aiming to prevent mid-practice dropout.

Benefits

The stipend is given to law graduates for training in practice through senior lawyers as under:

1. ?1,000/- per month for First Year Training
2. ?800/- per month for Second Year Training
3. ?600/- per month for Third Year Training
4. ?500/- per month as given to Senior Lawyer for giving training

Eligibility

1. The applicant should be a Law graduate.
2. The applicant should belong to the Scheduled Caste category.
3. The benefit of this scheme will be given only to natives of Gujarat state.
4. There is no income limit in this scheme.
5. The benefit of this scheme will be available to one person only once.

1. Application has to be made within two years of registration in Gujarat Bar Council.

2. A senior lawyer should have been practicing for at least 10 years.

3. A senior lawyer can retain up to two more junior lawyers for training.

4. Training to lawyers should be given at the district headquarters. By amending it, this type of training can also be given at the taluka headquarters.

5. Trainee junior advocates will have to submit a certificate of training to the senior advocate every month.

6. At least 15% of applicants must be from the most marginalized of the scheduled castes.

   1. The eligible applicant may visit the e-Samaj Kalyan Portal: https://esamajkalyan.gujarat.gov.in/?

   2. On the home page, under the tab ‘Citizen Login’, click on New User ‘Please Register Here’.

   3. Enter your Full Name as per Aadhaar Card, Gender, Date of Birth, Aadhaar Card Number, Email ID, Caste etc., and then click on ‘Register’.

   4. After successful registration, the applicants can login through their User ID and Password.

   5. Now, click on ‘User Profile’ to update your profile.

   6. Fill in all the mandatory information and then click on ‘Update’.

   7. After updating the profile successfully, select the scheme appearing on the home page; an application form will open.

   8. Fill in all the mandatory details in the application form and upload all the relevant documents.

   9. Now agree with the terms & conditions and click on ‘Save Application’.

   10. Submit the application form and take out the print of the application for future reference. The applicant can note down the application number to track the application status by logging into the portal using their User ID and Password.

       1. Passport-size Photograph
       2. Aadhaar Card of Junior Lawyer
       3. Caste certificate of junior lawyer
       4. School Leaving Certificate of Junior Advocate
       5. Mark sheet of passing LLB
       6. Junior Lawyer Charter or Enrolment Number-date
       7. Proof of Residence (Any one of Electricity Bill/License/Rent Agreement/Electoral Card/Ration Card)
       8. Junior Lawyer Bar Council Identity Card
       9. Copy of first page of bank passbook/cancelled check (in the name of junior lawyer)
       10. Any other documents as required
   Documents required for Senior Lawyer:
   1. Senior Advocate Aadhaar Card
   2. Copy of Senior Advocates Charter or Enrolment Number-Date
   3. Senior Advocates Bar Council Identity Card
   4. A senior lawyers certificate means that he has been practicing for more than ten years
   5. Written details of how many Junior Advocates are currently undergoing training under the Senior Advocate as received in writing from that Senior Advocate

   7. Copy of First Page of Bank Passbook / Cancelled Check (in the name of Sr. Advocate)
